A native of Dundee, Florida, Joe Briggs was a scholarship athlete during his undergraduate experience at Texas Christian University where he became a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Hired as the Head of Executive Strategy for Association of Black Leaders and Executives (ABLE), Joe works with its members to advance the belonging and equity for Black employees, customers, and our partners. Joe will work to align ABLE members on strategy implementation, build sustainable reporting mechanisms, and be a thought leader to the group on long term strategy and impact. Joe will also collaborate across the broader company to align the ABLE strategy with other Amazon-wide programs and efforts. Joe has more than 20 years of experience in public policy, education, and advocacy, and is a veteran sports lawyer, ID&E Advocate, and professor at Georgetown University. After his time at Texas Christian University, he continued his studies by earning a Master’s Degree at Florida A&M University and a law degree from the Florida State University College of Law, graduating with distinction and honors for his service. His previous roles included Special Assistant to the President at Florida A&M University (FAMU) before law school, and a legal fellow in the United States Senate shortly after. His last stop before Amazon was the NFL Players Association where his responsibilities included creating and directing their government relations shop, and additionally serving as legal counsel for the men now seen on Thursday night’s Amazon Prime broadcasts.
