The 100 Black Men of America’s Leadership Summit is a dynamic and transformative gathering that serves as a cornerstone of our commitment to elevating and empowering African-American communities across the United States. Rooted in our mission to uplift and uplift the lives of young people through mentorship, education, and community engagement, this annual conference represents a pivotal moment in our ongoing journey.

Our Purpose: Building Capacity, Strengthening Chapters

At its core, the Leadership Summit is designed to equip our network of dedicated chapters with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive and expand their impact. Our mission is to support and enhance the capacity of these chapters as they continue to serve as beacons of hope and opportunity in the communities they call home. By fostering a platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and inspiration, we are committed to bolstering our ability to bring about real and lasting change.

Opening Luncheon – Bridging the Gap on Health Disparities

Public Policy & Education: Real Men Vote - From the Streets to the Suites - Engaging Black Males to Vote and strategizing collaboratively to protect our Black History.

Overview: Voter literacy and engagement is essential now more than ever! This workshop will provide an overview of the “Real Men Vote Initiative,” which focuses on a universal-wide approach to empowering the members of the 100 to develop effective voting strategies. These strategies will address national and local conversations around DEI and the anti-affirmative action movement (i.e., the recent Supreme Court ruling on Affirmative Action and to develop a collaborative approach with strategic partners to support the John Lewis Voters Rights Act). The strategies can be taken back to their chapters and communities for implementation.

Finance and Chapter Development: Help Your Chapter Build and Strengthen its financial reporting and accounting capabilities. Demystifying the national reporting and compliance requirements.

Overview: This course will discuss and engage all attendees on the various financial reports, the 990-tax form, internal controls, mandatory reporting, and document retention policies. This workshop aims to help you and your chapter understand the proper financial procedures, ensure alignment with reporting requirements, and ensure efficiency and accuracy when it comes to Chapter compliance and mandatory reporting.

Fundraising and Development: Expanding your Chapter’s Programming Impact through Fundraising & Grants

Overview: This workshop will help you link activities in your chapter to funded programs available from national headquarters. You will also learn more from national and chapters in attendance about activities that can jump-start your fundraising initiatives beyond events.

“Unlocking the Power Within Your Chapter” - Mastering the impact of a successful program that works for you. One size doesn’t fit all…

Overview: Participants will uncover best practices in managing policies and procedures and building chapter capacity while engaging in discussions with chapter leaders from across the 100 networks regarding best practices in some of the most successful programs within their chapters. Find out how and bring your ideas to share and questions to ask. Participants will also engage in meaningful discussion on navigating through the Chapter Playbook…everything you need to know to make volunteering as a leader enjoyable and worthwhile while building a more robust and sustainable “WINNING” chapter.

Mentoring: Mentoring the 100 Way in the Face of New Social Challenges. We are NOT Okay – How do we get better?

Overview: This workshop will address effective relationships between mentees and their mentors. Participants will gain holistic strategies that address the following: Are our mentoring programs meeting the needs of our mentees? How do we identify signs that our mentees, as well as mentors, are in need of support? How do we build or enhance effective mentoring programs to close the gap in our communities? How do we respond to the needs? Participants will also learn how to develop effective evidence-based strategies and understand the why, the match, the what, and the impact that mentoring will have across a lifetime.
